Where Do I Vote: Mayoral, City Council Elections in JP

There is a hotly contested race for mayor of Boston as well as a contested local race for city council member.

After 20 years in office, Mayor Thomas Menino announced early in 2013 he would not run for re-election, thus launching several candidates into a hotly contested mayoral primary September.

Two candidates emerged: District 6 City Councilor John Connolly and State Representative Marty Walsh. On Tuesday, citizens of Boston will elect a new mayor and citizens of Jamaica Plain will head to the polls to decide a contested race for the district's city councilor seat.

Incumbent District 6 City Councilor Matt O’Malley is running for re-election against Luis F. Valerio.
