Student Move-In Parking Restrictions Brush JP

Jamaica Plain is home to many students, but the congestion usually takes place outside of the neighborhood.

Though Jamaica Plain is home to many Boston college and university students, the move-in mayhem of the last week of August/first week of September doesn’t usually impact the area as much as Allston.

Still, the city has implemented some parking and traffic restrictions near Jamaica Plain for this year’s end-of-summer move.

Mission Hill

“Tow Zone No Stopping, Boston Police Special Event, Sunday (Sept. 1) 9AM - 6PM, Except RPP” regulations will be in effect at the following locations.

·       Calumet Street, both sides,  from Darling Street to Hillside Street

·       Cherokee Street, both sides, from Pontiac Street to Hillside Street

·       Hillside Street, both sides, from Parker Hill Avenue to Parker Street

·       Oswald Street, both sides, from Calumet Street to Hillside Street

·       Pontiac Street, both sides, from Tremont Street to Hillside Street

·       Sachem Street, both sides, from Parker Hill Avenue to Calumet Street

·       Saint Alphonsus Street, both sides, from Alleghany Street to Calumet Street

“Tow Zone No Stopping Boston Police Special Event Sunday (Sept. 1)” regulations will be in effect at the following locations.

·       Parker Hill Avenue, odd side, from Huntington Avenue to Hillside Street

Those moving to the area are encouraged to visit the city's parking and transportation website for information on applying for a Street Occupancy Permit.  This permit will allow you to reserve a parking space on the public street for your moving vehicle.
