The Boston branch of Serlingpa Meditation Center offers a relaxed, welcoming setting in which to explore ways to develop wisdom and cultivate peaceful states of mind. Classes are designed to provide practical advice for responding to life’s challenges.

The Resident Teacher of Serlingpa Meditation Center is Kelsang Pawo, an American Buddhist monk with deep experience of Kadampa teachings and practice. His warmth, kindness, and skillful presentation of Buddhist wisdom help students understand how to integrate spiritual practice into daily life and find meaning and joy in whatever they encounter.

General Program classes (Tuesdays from 7:00 to 8:30pm, taught by Kelsang Pawo) offer introductory teachings on a wide range of spiritual topics. Each class emphasizes ways to take Buddha’s teachings as personal advice that can be put into practice in daily life. A typical class includes guided meditations, a teaching, discussion, and question and answer. ($10)

Sunday Meditations (Sundays from 11:00 to 12:00 am, taught by Deb Aquavella) explore ways to create inner and outer peace through learning about, meditating on, and putting into practice a variety of Buddha’s teachings. Each class includes guided meditation, a teaching, and opportunity for discussion. ($8)

Sunday Meditation for Kids & Families (9:30 am-10:30 am). Through meditation, teachings, story-telling, arts & crafts, and other fun activities, this special class is designed to help children & parents share a meaningful and fun family experience, while developing integral minds of happiness such as kindness, patience & generosity. These classes are designed for children ages 5 to 12. An adult must accompany children. ($4 per child)

We also offer many meditation day courses, workshops and retreats in Boston.

All of these classes are open to anyone; it is not necessary to pre-register for general classes, although registering ahead for workshops & day courses is recommended. You don’t need to bring or wear anything special to the classes, and both chairs and cushions are available for sitting; and you are welcome to join at any time.
