David, if you think 6 lanes is bad, you should consider what we're dealing with just up the
Arborway.
We've got 8 lanes of parallel commuter traffic between Centre Street and the Pond! That's what used to go through Forest Hills with the Casey Overpass in full operation.
Net net, this spells a reduction of two lanes of commuter traffic traveling through Forest Hills. Seems to me that's an improvement no matter how you look at it. Obviously, we'll need to make sure they address air pollution and traffic noise as well as safety and convenience for pedestrian and recreational users in the final project design.
