Chester, Scott Morales' post is one of our opinion blogs that we invite community members to post on the site. Blog posts are not the views of Patch, but rather the views of the readers within our communities. They are not written Patch employees and blogs are not paid for by Patch, therefore, anyone with an opposing viewpoint is invited to blog on Patch as well. We invite people to blog on any range of subjects they wish be it politics, gardening, raising kids or chickens or kids and chickens... you name it. If you are interested in writing the occasional or even regular opinion pieces on Patch, we welcome it and you can read more here: http://merrimack.patch.com/blog/apply

@MMK_Townie: You can call the fire department with the address and they can check and see if your neighbor has a fire permit on file with the department. Permit or not, outdoor fires are not being allowed until the fire danger decreases (hopefully with some rain later this week).

Not that I've heard of, Lisa, but that doesn't mean there hasn't been... Anyone out there seen a moose this year?

One warning to end the back and forth about who is using a real name and who isn't. it's unnecessary, off topic and pointless since clearly people regularly do not use real names in this forum. If you want to debate the subject matter of the story, go for it, but stay on topic.

Let's not carry this over into yet another comment stream, please. if you want to make comments relative to the bear that was shot, leave them on that story. This has nothing to do with that.
Keep it on topic.

The fence is actually about 7 feet high and has a spiky top. It would be rather difficult to jump. Not impossible, I'm sure, but not easy.

Jess: the dog park at Watson Park has been moved to Wasserman Park. I've been meaning to do a story for a while about the plans, the history, etc. I've just kept putting it on the back burner. Will plan to get on that soon, though!

Shana, that is incorrect information. There will be a fence at the dog park.

Barbara,
According to the the Telegraph's story, the State Dept. of Transportation said there is still $22 million to pay off on the $50 million bond that was taken out for the Merrimack exits. I wasn't at the hearing yesterday, but I'm working on a follow up story. There's a lot more information contained in the link to the Telegraph in the story above.
