WIll spring come early?
1. The world-famous groundhog Punxsawtuny Phil did not see his shadow Saturday, which means he's predicted an early start to spring. 2. Hope everyone is recovering from their (extra long) Super Bowl party. Where did you watch? 3. The Hyde Square Task Force is looking to fill a few roles. 4. The Boston Public Schools system released new school assignment proposals last week that include everything from the creation of smaller zones to the abolition of the zones altogether. The schools' External Advisory Committee will discuss the proposals today, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Orchard Gardens K-8 School, 906 Albany St. 5. People on Twitter had some interesting things to say during the big game.

JP — we're stereotyped as a neighborhood that's more likely to actively avoid the Super Bowl than watch it non-ironically. But I bet that's not very accurate. I think I understand sports culture. I will never complain about the Third Harbor Tunnel being renamed after the Splendid Splinter. I just don't like seeing grown men dressed in team uniforms unless they actually play on that team.
I was in a pizza parlor with my husband on Saturday when I spotted them: A married couple in their mid-50s wearing matching nylon Patriot’s football jerseys. Being well into middle age and a long suffering wife myself, I smiled broadly at the woman, trying to catch her eye so I could joke with her about her choice in costume.
