JP 3rd Boston Neighborhood for Residential Solar Power

Through the Solarize Mass-Boston program, 116 contracts were signed to install solar power energy systems across the city's neighborhoods.

  Residential solar projects will double after 116 Bostonians signed contracts to install solar projects through Solarize Mass-Boston. Residents and businesses were offered a group buying program designed to increase interest of purchasing solar energy and reduce its cost, due to buying in bulk. The more people signed up, the more prices dropped, with 41 contracts being signed in the last week of the program. Jamaica Plain was third on the list with 21 contracts signed. Roslindale had the most with 33 and Dorchester was second with 22.  All other neighborhoods were in single digit contracts (please see chart below for full breakdown).
