Has Your Street Not Been Plowed?

The storm is long over, but several Jamaica Plain streets are still just as snow covered as they were Saturday morning.

Several Jamaica Plain streets are still completely covered with snow. Jamaica Plain Patch readers have emailed and sent photos via Twitter of streets in the neighborhood that have yet to see one pass with a plow since the snow began to come down hard overnight Friday into Saturday morning. The city of Boston plowed streets through the night, and they're taking requests via forms on the city's website: www.cityofboston.gov. The city's corresponding Twitter handle is @NotifyBoston. This is the city's last Tweet from about 10:30 Saturday night: "Crews working through the night, all streets will be plowed. Resident Asks For Shoveling Help at Chestnut Lot

The lot, on Chestnut Avenue near Biltmore Street, is used by several as free parking, according to a reader.

Below is a letter to the editor from a reader on Chestnut Avenue: I live on chestnut avenue in JP. My fiancé is a co-owner of a parking lot on chestnut avenue near biltmore street. One of the owners lives out of state and the other two don't offer to help shovel/snow plow at all or to pay someone to do it.  There is limited communication about this lot, despite our many attempts to come up with a plan for how to maintain and improve the lot, which many consider free off street parking.  Two winters ago, we had multiple storms. My fiancé, one or two neighbors and I removed the snow. I was amazed by the lack of interest in helping to remove snow from what is being used as a community parking lot.  Once this lot was purchased, it was our hope…

You shouldn't be visiting elderly patients if you are so sick. They have weakened immune systems and have less ability to recover from the horrible cold that you described. You could put their lives in jeopardy.   more ›
