The doors are locked at Café Society, formerly a women’s clothing store at 606 Centre St., and though readers had plenty of suggestions for the new business, it turns out there’s already one planned for the space: a men’s clothing store. Caramelo Clothing will open at the space sometime in late March, according to owner Carolina Tejedor-Meyers, but it could be sooner. “We have a countdown clock on the website,” she said in a phone interview, “It’s nerve wracking.” She said the store will specialize in men's clothing and accessories. Tejedor-Meyers is a first-time clothing storeowner, but a long time Jamaica Plain resident. She lives just down the street from the location, and has been in Jamaica Plain for 12 years. The first three non-dairy flavors debut on March 6.
Vegans rejoice. You no longer have to just drink coffee while your friends enjoy ice cream at JP Licks. The JP-based ice cream cafe will offer its first three dairy-free ice cream flavors at a free tasting on March 6. The flavors are: According to a company press release, "all of the flavors will be non-dairy, gluten-free, vegan, Kosher certified and sweetened with brown rice and agave syrups." In April, J.P. Licks will debut dairy-free hemp-based ice cream. Tokers shouldn't get too keyed up, though. As Boston Inno points out, hemp, though related to marijuana, lacks THC. In June J.P. licks plans to introduce dairy-free soy ice creams.

J P sure could be a great, interesting new alternative fashion destination! We have had a few tastes of it ... Fire Opal, Salmagundi, and ' back in the day' - "Pluto" had some very cool stuff for men, that were so interesting, yet timeless that clothes I got 15 years ago are still cool and I still get compliments.
