JP's Gard in 'Jeopardy!' Tourney of Champions

The Jamaica Plain resident won $84,700 on "Jeopardy!" last March.

David Gard will once again compete on “Jeopardy!” this time against the major players. The retail horticulturalist from Jamaica Plain will compete in the “Jeopardy!” Tournament of Champions beginning Feb. 13. Gard won $84,000 on a four-game winning streak in March. He’ll compete against 14 winners for a grand prize of $250,000 in the two-week championship tournament. The field is made up of players who won the most games since the last Tournament of Champions in November 2011. In addition to the top-scoring multi-game winners, two teachers tournament winners and one college champion earned automatic berths by winning their respective specialty tournaments, according to a “Jeopardy!” press release.
