Patch readers from Boston neighborhoods outside of JP chose their favorite dinner spots, and here are the results.
While JP residents were chiming in this week on the "Best Place to Buy Candy," our sister Patches in Boston were asking: Where's the best place to eat dinner in your community? After five days of voting, here are the results: South End Union Bar & Grille, 1357 Washington St. Back Bay Parish Café and Bar, 361 Boylston St. Beacon Hill 75 Chestnut, 75 Chestnut St. Charlestown Navy Yard Bistro and Wine Bar, 1 6th St # 199 A future "Best of Patch Readers' Choice" contest will put this topic to a vote in JP.

On Wednesday, Ten Tables made official a rumor that has been circulating for more than a month: That it will open a "burger bar" in the former Bon Savor space.
It's official: JP is getting a burger bar in the space that used to be Bon Savor. The rumor has been causing salivation among burger lovers for more than a month. On Wednesday morning, Ten Tables confirmed, via its Twitter account, that its owner, Krista Kranyak will open "GrassFed" on Feb. 1. The 605 Centre St. space opened up after the owners of Bon Savor were denied visas to return to the U.S. Ten Tables and its TT Bar are just steps from the new burger bar. Ten Tables, which also has locations in Cambridge and Provincetown, is known for its use of local ingredients and warm service.

Ciampa, who grew up working in his father’s longtime JP institution, Same Old Place, has added many new menu items at his own evolving eatery. New additions include Sicilian-style pizza and a “Slice of the Day.” "But we continue to emphasize …

Whether the result of our halting command of the language or some sinister motive on our waiter’s part, I cannot say. We were served a sickening assortment of small plates including, if I recall correctly, pig’s ear, stuffed baby squid, blood sausage, and that unappetizingly fatty and sanguine-shaded Spanish specialty known as “Serrano” ham. I wasn’t a vegetarian at the time but I still couldn’t stomach the dinner. That night I ended up eating a …

Horrible service and food. Nothing like 10 tables. They actually forbid you to take food to go and refuse to cook your burger to order even though they have signs claiming too. Small portions and high prices   more ›
