Tossed T Carolers Allowed to Return
As a show of good faith, new MBTA general manager has accepted an invitation to sing with the carolers at Forest Hills station tonight.
Just over a dozen carolers were kicked out of the Forest Hills MBTA station Monday night, but they’ve been given the “all clear” to head back. Bostinno.com reported that the group of carolers was asked if they had a permit to sing at the bustling station, which they did not. They were then asked to leave, but MBTA general manager Beverly Scott said through MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo they’ve been allowed to return “in the spirit of the holidays.” On Tuesday, Scott accepted an invitation to join the carolers tonight, the site reported. Bostinno said in 2003 the T implemented rules for subway performers which require performers to individually register and wear T-issued ID badges.

Good to see Ms Scott getting off on the right foot. Buskers being licensed is one thing, but as she said 'in the spirit of the holidays' if the group is not affiliated with church recruiting followers or collecting cash let them sing!   more ›
