Discovery of Woman's Body Breaks Morning Routines at Jamaica Pond

Police have removed the body of what a witness said was an older woman from the shore of Jamaica Pond.

UPDATE, Friday, 5:42 p.m. — Police say foul play is not suspected in the woman's death. ~~~~~ The many runners and dog walkers who circulate Jamaica Pond each morning had their routines disrupted by the discovery of a woman's body. Police say they received a call at 7:41 for a body in the water. A witness told Patch that he and his friends found the body. "I thought it was a mannequin," said Reuben, of Roslindale, who declined to give his last name. But they soon saw that it was the body of an older white woman, face down. They flagged down a person who had a cell phone and called police. Police have released nothing official about the incident as of 11 a.m. When they do, we will post it. It is possible the case could be a suicide, though …
