Discovery of Woman's Body Breaks Morning Routines at Jamaica Pond

Police have removed the body of what a witness said was an older woman from the shore of Jamaica Pond.

UPDATE, Friday, 5:42 p.m. — Police say foul play is not suspected in the woman's death. ~~~~~ The many runners and dog walkers who circulate Jamaica Pond each morning had their routines disrupted by the discovery of a woman's body. Police say they received a call at 7:41 for a body in the water. A witness told Patch that he and his friends found the body. "I thought it was a mannequin," said Reuben, of Roslindale, who declined to give his last name. But they soon saw that it was the body of an older white woman, face down. They flagged down a person who had a cell phone and called police. Police have released nothing official about the incident as of 11 a.m. When they do, we will post it.
