The firefighters who man this station round the clock all receive specialized traning in technical rescue. They learn how to rescue people from collapsed buildings, wells, manholes and ship holds.
The ladder truck stationed here has one of the longest reaches in the Boston Fire Department. For every fire in Division Two that reaches two or more alarms, Tower Ladder 10 responds.
Each morning at 8:30am the firefighters hold an equipment check. Children are welcome to attend with their parents or guardians.

The grass field is the last natural field in the Boston Public School system. The others have been converted to artificial turf. The field has a built-in watering system that keeps the surface green even during dry summers. The full name of the stadium is George Robert White Schoolboy Stadium. A variety of community events also take place here, including the Peace Games and Caribbean Kiddies Carnival. The offices of the Boston Public School's athletic department are located here.
