Connolly Branch Library
433 Centre St, Jamaica Plain, MA 02130

The Connolly Branch of the Boston Public Library boasts a collection of more than 40,000 items, with nearly half ofMore them in Spanish.

"Spanish is what we're known for," says Jane Bickford, the branch librarian.

The library is housed in a 1932 building that has been restored to near original condition. The 20-plus foot plaster ceiling of the main room is decorated with rosettes and geometric patterns.

In addition to the collections and resources, the branch has a 150-person lecture hall. There is a stage and sound system. Non-profit organizations are welcome to use the space by arrangement with the librarian. For-profit groups may rent the hall after hours.
