For more than 11 years, this Hyde Square sandwich shop has offered up chimis, Dominican burgers with either groundMore beef, chicken or pork shoulder topped with shredded lettuce, onions, pickles, tomatoes and Thousand Island dressing, served on fresh Cuban bread. Alex's Chimis boasts "the best rotisserie chicken in town" which is available as whole, half and individual pieces. Sides include fried sweet potatoes, rice and peas, fried plantains and meat and vegetable turnovers. There are a few tables for eating in the clean, bright dining area. This establishment accepts cash only. 
F.J. Doyle's Braddock Cafe

There's a lot of history at this old, traditional Boston Irish pub founded in 1882 -- and the walls illustrate itMore with photographs, faded articles and even a painted mural of all the local political figures who have tossed back a pint here. Not surprisingly, it attracts a lot of history buffs and tourists, and they fit in well with friendly locals at the pub's well-stocked bar. 

The pub is large and has three dining areas. Brian Tully is the chef here and his menu offers pub standards like burgers, club sandwiches, soups and chowders, meat and seafood dinners and pizzas. Daily dinner specials like baked ham steak, stuffed shrimp and meatloaf are a nod to vintage New England menus. 

Ten Tables & TT Bar

Ten Tables is considered the dining gem of JP, consistently receiving raves for its welcoming ambiance, superiorMore service and thoughtful, well-executed seasonal menu that makes smart use of locally grown foods. The large open kitchen is the focal point of the dim-lit dining area; sparse, white-clothed tables fill the rustic brick-exposed space. Menu standouts include the beet-and-goat-cheese terrine appetizer and the house-made charcuterie served with traditional accouterments. For mains, there's the puttanesca with local Allandale Farm tomatoes and anchovies, and the roasted chorizo-stuffed Giannone chicken, fresh corn and bean succotash with smoked jalapeno butter.

An impressive and varied selection of beers, cocktails and wines is available; ask about suggested wine/dessert pairings. Ten Tables recently expanded to include TT Bar, which features a few small hightop tables and  limited bar space. A "bar bites" menu includes light snacks, burgers, artisanal cheeses and charcuterie.
