Do you own or manage this location? Claim it!

The all-volunteer group that takes care of Nira Rock Urban Wild bills it as "Boston's hidden gem."

Tucked in a hilly neighborhood near the Hennigan Elementary School, this amazing area has a 40-foot rock face with two hardware-equipped climbing routes.

There's also an orchard, a meadow with views of the city and plenty of shady spots for a picnic. Dogs are welcome.

For public transportation: take the Green line to the Heath Street stop.

  • Handicap Accessible: Parts are accessible, such as the curving ramp into part of the area. Others are blocked by short stairs.
  • Parking: On-street: free
  • Area: 1.5 acres
