This chapter of Boston's ABCD Head Start is part of the Native American Indian Center of Boston. In addition to providing comprehensive developmental programs for low-income families and children, this Head Start chapter also supports Native American culture and traditions. Parent involvement is encouraged.
my daughter just started at this head start program this september and has had an absolutely awesome experience thus far -- i had heard about head start before but didn't realize just how comprehensive their services are. my daughter gets fed breakfast, lunch, and a snack every day, and the food is actually good (ie, healthy, unlike those stale bps lunches they serve in the schools) and cooked fresh daily. all the staff have been so helpful to our entire family in terms of connecting us to a vast range of resources, and i am so grateful for all their assistance. my older daughter is at a private school and went to a private preschool, but i feel my younger daughter is getting every bit as good an experience at this head start (plus our whole family is benefitting from the added bonus of supplemental resources!) -- i am a huge supporter of the head start program and truly believe it not only helps the children enrolled at the school but really strives to address the needs of the entire family (which in turn actually ends up helping the children, as well!)

I have consistently found Native American Head Start to be a welcoming, enriched environment to stimulate young minds and imaginagtions. the children are immersed in multi sensory ways of experiencing learning. The emphasis is on the high quality of interaction between teacher, administration and the children. I have seen children thrive here.
