Leonardo DaVinci & The Last Supper

On Thursday, Jan. 30, Dr. Irene Roman interprets The Last Supper in a program and lecture at the West Roxbury branch of the Boston Public Library. This free event starts at 6 p.m. Roman, as posted in her profile on UMass Boston, got her BS and MEd from Boston University and a doctorate of philosophy from Boston College Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. "She has lived, studied, and traveled extensively in Italy. She has been a consultant and translator of document and correspondence and has taught Italian language and culture at several institutions, including the Radcliffe College Graduate Seminars, Northeastern University, Quincy College, and the Newton School System."

School Registration Period Ends This Week

The registration period is open, and continues through Jan. 31, for new to Boston Public Schools applicants for Kindergarten as well as students heading to grades 6 or 9. "All other new-to-BPS applicants should register in the second registration period in February. School assignments are made using our lottery system after each registration period ends, so it doesn't matter when you register within a particular period -- it's not first-come first-served and everyone has the same opportunities as long as they register within the correct period." Find out schedules, and school choices here.
