Hyde Square Task Force Wins $200,000 Grant

The youth development agency won the unrestricted grant from Bank of America.

With Bank of America’s selection of for the prestigious Neighborhood Builder Grant, we join the ranks of high-impact partners including the Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Development Corporation, Urban Edge, and Teen Empowerment, who have received this award in the past.

Claudio Martinez, executive director of Hyde Square Task Force, said, "We are pleased Bank of America selected the Hyde Square Task Force family, our youth, our neighborhood, our partners and supporters for the Neighborhood Builder Award. For over two decades we have all worked together to enhance the lives of youth and families and build a strong and vibrant urban community. BoA's support will enable us to continue to create the next generation of leaders of our great city."

Recognized this week, along with Bridge Over Troubled Waters, Hyde Square Task Force has been provided with a $200,000 unrestricted grant and leadership training from Bank of America. Hyde Square Task Force and Bridge Over Troubled Waters were selected to both receive this grant ($200,000 for each organization over the next two years), for general operating costs and to help them continue the amazing work they have always done. 

These grants are part of Bank of America’s Neighborhood Builders program.  The program works with 92 high-impact nonprofits across 44 U.S. cities and London. Since the beginning of the program in 2004, Bank of America has invested $3.6 million in Massachusetts.

The mission of Hyde Square Task Force is to develop the skills of youth and their families so that they are empowered to enhance their own lives and build a strong and vibrant urban community. Since its founding, the Hyde Square Task Force has developed on-going programs for youth and families that not only help them advance at school and in careers, but also help create positive relations and opportunities to take pride and action in our community.
