OLYMPICS 2012: See When to Watch Local Athletes on TV, Online

With dozens of local athletes and hundreds of events finding who is on when is tough, but here are the times for Massachusetts' Olympians.

The 2012 London Olympics are underway, but there are so many events that finding the ones you want to watch can be tough. Patch has sifted through the schedules so you will know when the local athletes will be in action.

NBC and its networks announced it will show every event, so no matter who you are rooting for you should be able to find his or her competition. Some will be streamed live on the NBC Olympics website’s Live Extra.

Note: All of the events listed below can be seen live online at NBCOlympics.com with a cable, satellite or telco TV subscription that includes MSNBC and CNBC, according to the Team USA website.

Newton’s  will represent the USA in the women’s single sculls.

  • On July 28, , qualifying her for the quarterfinals on July 31. 
  • The quarterfinals were on July 31.
  • The final is Sunday, Aug. 4 at 4:30 a.m. online and from 3:45 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. on Channel 7. Stone is out of medal contention, but will .

Stuart McNay, who grew up in Newton and lives in Boston, is skipper of the US’s 470 boat.

  • The sailing competition has two pool races a day on Aug. 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7. The races will be shown online only, beginning at 7 a.m. each day.
  • The medal race will be held Thursday, Aug. 9 at 7 a.m. on the NBC website.

Gymnast (and ) Aly Raisman of Needham is having a busy Olympics for team USA. She will take part in the team competition and on Sunday qualified for the all-around and individual events. Raisman placed highest on the beam and floor in the Olympic Trials and finished third in the all-around.

  • Qualification began on Sunday, July 29.
  • The women’s team final was Tuesday, July 31.
  • Raisman . She is being widely celebrated in her hometown of Needham.
  • The balance beam final is on Tuesday, Aug. 7 at 11:47 a.m. online and will be shown in the NBC primetime broadcast which begins at 8 p.m.
  • The floor exercise final is on Tuesday, Aug. 7 at 12:23 p.m. online and will be shown in the NBC primetime broadcast which begins at 8 p.m. 

Marblehead’s Shalane Flanagan competes in the women’s marathon on Sunday, Aug. 5. The race will be shown live on NBC, Channel 7, from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Northborough’s Dorian McMenemy swam Sunday in the 100 meter butterfly, representing the Dominican Republic, where her mother was born. The 15-year-old who attends Algonquin High School. She placed second in her heat and 41st overall, not making the semifinals. American Dana Vollmer won the gold medal with a world record time.

Rower Kristin Hedstrom of Concord is competing in the lightweight double sculls.

  • She placed third in her heat on Sunday, July 29.
  • That means she competed in the "reparchages" on Tuesday, July 31.
  • The semi finals were on Aug. 2. .
  • The final is on Friday, Aug. 3 at 5 a.m. online and at 10:30 a.m. on NBC. 

Evelyn Stevens, who grew up in Acton, placed 24th in the women’s cycling road race on Sunday.

Weston’s Will Newell will row on the USA’s lightweight four boat.

Woburn’s Sarah Scherer competed in the air rifle competition. She placed seventh.

Kayla Harrison of Wakefield competed in the 78 kg. class judo competition She became the .

Mark Mendelblatt, who lives in Florida but attended Tufts University, will sail in the laser class competition. There will be two pool races a day on July 30, 31, Aug. 1, 3 and 4, which will be shown online at 7 a.m. The medal race will be held on Monday, Aug. 6 at 7 a.m. online.

Boston’s Ruben Sanca will run in the 5,000 meters for Cape Verde.

  • The O’Bryant High School graduate will run in the first round on Wednesday, Aug. 8, which will be shown at 5 a.m. online and at 1:15 p.m. on NBC.
  • The final is on Saturday, Aug. 11 at 1:45 p.m. online and on NBC’s primetime coverage, which begins at 8 p.m. 

Brandeis University alum Tim Morehouse will compete in the sabre events in the fencing competition.

  • The individual tournament took place on Sunday, July 29. Morehouse performed well, getting to the quarterfinals out of a field of 64.
  • The men’s team sabre competition will be held Friday, Aug. 3, and will be shown beginning at 6:30 a.m. online. The medal round will begin at 1 p.m. and will be shown online.
