Lacking Numbers, English Track Team Falls In Season Opener

The Blue and Blue lose to O'Bryant Wednesday.

Hampered by a depleted squad, the track team began the season on a losing note Wednesday falling to O’Bryant.

“We only had a couple of athletes competing yesterday because of some logistical issues,” said Blue and Blue head coach Logan Jones. “We will be rolling out a more complete team on Monday.”

Performing notably for the girls, who lost 71-1, was Agniaska Mora. She ran in the 100-meter and 200-meter dash.

“She ran hard and is looking forward to her next opportunity to compete,” said Jones. “She has been very steady for us and her hard work is beginning to pay off.”

The boys, who lost 54-8, received a third place finish (33-3 1/2) in the shot put from Jamel Richardson.
