Playworks 2nd Annual Run 4 Recess 5K

Playworks Metro-Boston will host their 2nd Annual 5K Run for Recess on Saturday, May 14th, 2011 in Franklin Park. The race will begin at 10:30am

This event will raise funds to support the educational programs Playworks implements for over 10,000 elementary school children in 27 low-income Metro-Boston Public Schools. As a testament to our program quality and impact, each partner school pays $23,500 (45% of total operating cost) to have Playworks in their building.  Through great events like the 5k Run for Recess, Playworks is able to raise the additional $28,500 per school to sustain our program.

The registration fee of $20 includes a t-shirt (for 1st 400 pre-registered runners), refreshments, and an individual goodie bag (water, coupons, and more) as well as the chance to win prizes for top place finishers. Participants can register online at www.bit.ly/run4recess .
