English Baseball Hits Skid
The Blue and Blue have lost three straight games after falling to Malden, 15-7.
After an auspicious opening to its season, the baseball team has encountered a rough patch, losing three straight games. The most recent one was a 15-7 defeat to Malden Monday.
Blue and Blue starting pitcher Delvis Baez struggled early, allowing 10 runs in the first two innings, but a trio of English relievers came in and were able to contain the damage the rest of the game.
“The first two innings didn’t show how the game went,” said Blue and Blue assistant coach Ted Hespeler. “The bats ended up coming around. They stuck with it.”

Fueling the Blue and Blue on the offensive side was Miguel Calderon, who drilled a 3-run home run.
English will look to snap the three-game skid as it hits the road Wednesday to take on West Roxbury at 3:30 p.m.
