Hughes Oil Site Developers to Meet Public

The 280-unit complex is part of a budding development scene on Washington Street.

The Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Council Housing and Development committee will host a meeting with the developers of a 280-unit complex planned for Washington Street.

The developers will take public input for the project, located at 3593-3615 Washington St., dubbed The Commons at Forest Hills Station.

The area is an industrial site and was used as a petroleum product distribution depot for nearly 100 years, according to the statement. Developers have removed 30,000 tons of contaminated soil along with above ground oil tanks.
