City Approves Amory Avenue Development

The affordable-only development promises to further shape the Jackson Square area.

A city board approved a Jackson Square development that has been a long time in the making last week.

The Boston Redevelopment Authority OK’d an all-affordable housing development to be located at 75 Amory Avenue July 16, according to the BRA website.

The development will feature 39-units of affordable rental housing – mostly two and three-bedroom units – laundry facility and bike parking. The Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Development Corporation is the developer for the project.

Other changes are planned in Jackson Square, according to the BRA, including Jackson Commons, a “mixed income residential building.”

Recently, the BRA dissolved the Jackson Square Community Advisory Committee, which oversaw redevelopment in the area.
