Officials to Discuss Safety Improvements to Arborway in Jamaica Plain Tuesday

Residents are encouraged to attend a meeting and submit feedback and input.

Massachusetts State Rep. Jeffrey Sanchez (D-Boston) plans to host a meeting in Jamaica Plain on Tuesday to discuss ways to boost safety the Arborway.

The Arborway Advisory Group, which has met regularly for more than five years, works to connect the state Department of Conservation and Recreation, MassDOT and the Boston Transportation Department to area residents and organizations working near the roadway and park space.

"Over the last few months, we have seen a number of car accidents that have generated serious concerns of the safety along the Arborway and Jamaicaway," Sanchez said in a statement. "I want to hear from the residents on what they would like to see improved at this meeting."
