O’Malley to Lead ‘Town Hall’ Tonight in JP

The District 6 city councilor will address the needs of the community while taking feedback from citizens.

Matt O’Malley, Boston City Councilor from District 6, will host a “town meeting” tonight for Jamaica Plain residents. It will be his third annual Jamaica Plain meeting; he’s held six since he has been elected to the city council in 2013, the other three being in West Roxbury.

The Jamaica Plain resident will take questions, present a power point demonstration and try to get an overall sense of where the citizens of Jamaica Plain are now and where they would like to be going in the future.

“It’s a great opportunity to check in with residents,” he said.

O’Malley has been pushing green energy initiatives and urban agriculture and farming of late, but he wants to address questions about the new school assignment plan, JP development issues and also the Casey Overpass at the meeting.

“I always say a person’s vote is like a hiring decision, so I like to use this as my annual review from the people I work for,” he said.
