No Revisions Coming for Proposed Arborway Bus Yard Plan

The Arborway Yard currently houses a temporary bus maintenance facility.

A proposed design plan for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority's bus maintenance yard at 500 Arborway in Jamaica Plain will not be revised by the MBTA, which previously looked to demolish an office building at the location, the Jamaica Plain Gazette reported this week.

The plan remains unfunded and will remain unaltered at the recommendation of the Community Planning Committee for the Arborway Yard; the MBTA previously has sought to conduct site preparation work later this year that would include the demolition of the office building, according to the Gazette.

The Arborway Yard, an 18-acre area of land on Washington Street and the Arborway in the Forest Hills section of Jamaica Plain, currently houses the temporary bus maintenance facility. For more information on the Arborway Yard project, click here.
