Large Crowd Gathers in Jamaica Plain for Mayor Walsh Coffee Hour

Dozens met with the mayor at South Street Park on Tuesday.

A large crowd of residents, business owners, parents, students and local community groups gathered in Jamaica Plain Tuesday morning to visit with Boston Mayor Martin Walsh, who was in the neighborhood as part of his coffee hour series that began this week.

Walsh made his coffee hour stop at South Street Park, 52 South St. in Jamaica Plain from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

At the meeting, Boston's City Hall to Go truck appeared, and Harvest Co-Op donated a special gift card for a raffle prize, while Showa Boston presented the mayor with a kimono and students from the Mission Hill K-8 school sang "Mister Golden Sun," according to Jullieanne Doherty, Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Coordinator for the Mayor's office.
