JP'S Arroyo Gets 4 Percent of Vote in Recent Mayoral Poll

An early poll of 600 likely voters chose John Connolly as the favorite to be the next Boston mayor.

According to a poll conducted by Suffolk University and the Boston Herald, At-Large City Councilor John Connolly was favored by a razor thing margin to win the mayoral election, while one local candidate lags behind.

Connolly garnered 12 percent of the vote while state Rep. Marty Walsh, D-Dorchester, was next with 11 percent, according to the Boston Herald. Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel Conley followed with 9 percent, then came District 5 City Councilor Rob Consalvo with 8 percent of the vote. 

The poll listed Charlotte Golar Richie, the only woman in the race, after Consalvo, followed by City Councilor Mike Ross, and then At-Large City Councilor Felix Arroyo.

The poll asked 600 "tightly screened likely voters" from July 10 to 15, and has a margin of error of plus/minus 4 percent, according to the Herald. Click here to read the full article
