JPA: Upcoming Meetings to Focus on Parking, Arboretum Crosswalk

Get more reminders and important information from the JPA this week.

At its upcoming meeting on May 6, the Jamaica Pond Association will discuss a request from a local business to change between four to six parking spaces on Centre Street near Pond Street to 15-minute parking, the JPA announced this week. 

The JPA, which will hold its monthly meeting on Monday, May 5 from 7-9 p.m. at the Jamaica Tower, also released a number of reminders to local residents and community members. 

One such reminder was in regards to the Boston Transportation Department, which will host the first of a series of meetings on Monday, April 28 to discuss the planning for Centre and South streets from Forest Hills to Jackson Square. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at the Hennigan School.

On Tuesday, May 6, the Department of Conservation and Recreation and the Arborway Coalition will meet at 7 p.m. to discuss the recommendations about a pedestrian crosswalk near Custer Street across from the upper Arborway leading to the Arboretum.
