Group Rallies to Extend Middle Class Tax Cuts

The group, Massachusetts Fair Share, held a rally outside of Ferris Wheels bike shop Thursday morning.

With the “fiscal cliff” looming, threatening to end tax cuts for the middle class, a locally-based group wants to see the deadline extended.

Massachusetts Fair Share, a grassroots advocacy group, gathered in front of Ferris Wheels bike shop Thursday morning to announce the launch of an emergency three-week campaign to stop the expiration of middle class tax cuts on Jan. 1, 2013, AKA: the date after the deadline of the fiscal cliff.

“Extending middle class tax cuts is vital to ensuring the long term economic security of hard working Americans,” said Ryan Berard, community political organizer with the Service Employees International Union in a group press statement.
