The work of Annie Dookhan, the ex-chemist who worked in a Jamaica Plain lab, may have impacted over 40,000 state drug cases, according to the Gov. Deval Patrick administration.
The Boston Globe reported Monday that Dookhan, who worked at the Hinton state drug lab, tampered with 40,323 cases.
Dookhan faces a variety of charges throughout Massachusetts counties for allegedly tainting drug evidence but thousands of cases in doubt.
Already, several convicted drug offenders have been freed pending new cases.
