City Officials to Discuss Updates on Jamaica Plain Library Renovations

Boston officials will reconvene to discuss updates regarding renovations to the Boston Public Library's Jamaica Plain branch in early August, library officials announced Friday.

The next meeting on the project will be held on Monday, Aug. 4 at 6 p.m. in the library, located at 12 Sedgwick St. in Jamaica Plain.

City officials approved an $8.5 million loan order for the project last June, and the project entails the full renovations of the library, which was reportedly last renovated in 1962.

Renovations will include improved accessibility, electrical, shelving, restructuring of bathrooms, better utilization of the mezzanine level and a teen reading room.
