Bromley-Heath Learning Center Contractor Exceeding Diversity Hiring Goals

CWC Builders is constructing a $16 million learning center in Jackson Square.

While the new learning center looks like it will be a win for Jamaica Plain, the contractor is already winning praise in the community for its high rate of diversity hiring.

The Bay State Banner reports CWC Builders, contactor for the $16 million Bromley-Heath learning center, has hired 75 percent minorities, 16 percent women, 61 percent Boston residents and 71 percent Section 3 residents. “Section 3” is a federal law designed to promote economic opportunities for low-income public housing and area residents and for businesses that are owned by or employ public housing residents and low-income individuals.
