Would-be Robber Hits Man in Back of Head and in the Face on Child Street

A man was taken to Faulkner Hospital late Saturday night after a robber struck him on the back of the head and in the face. The robber didn't get anything from the victim.

A man walking down Child Street at 10:30 p.m. on Friday told police he was attacked by someone who tried to rob him.

The victim reported that someone hit him on the back of the head, then turned him around and punched him in the face. According to a police report, the "suspect tried to rob victim but was unable to."

The suspect, described only as 6-feet tall and wearing a dark, hooded sweatshirt, ran away down Child Street, according to the police report.

The victim was taken to Faulkner Hospital for a possible broken nose.

Twitter user tinytomtime saw the aftermath of the attack, with the victim being taken away by ambulance and police scouring the area with three cruisers and a dog.
