What's Open, Closed on Christmas

There's not much to leave the house for on this weekend holiday.

Christmas falls on a Saturday this year, giving you even fewer reasons to leave the house. Here's a handy list of what's open (and closed) during the holiday:

  • Retail stores: Closed.
  • Supermarkets and liquor stores: Closed.
  • Convenience stores: Most open.

  • Stock market: Closed.
  • Municipal offices: Closed.
  • Banks: Closed.
  • Libraries: Closed.
  • Schools: Closed.
  • Post office: Closed.
  • MBTA: Operating on a modified schedule.
  • Parking Meters: Free, time limit in effect.
  • Municipal Tow Lot:  Closed, reopens Monday at 7 a.m. 
  • Trash/Recycling: Regular schedule.
