The victim, a 9-year-old Jamaica Plain student, died from his injury on Friday.

A Boston teen is scheduled to be arraigned in juvenile court Monday after he allegedly accidentally shot and killed his 9-year-old brother at their Mattapan home on Friday, according to MyFoxBoston.

The victim, identified as Janmarco Pena, a fourth-grade student at the Hennigan Elementary School in Jamaica Plain, lived with his mother and two siblings and was reportedly home sick from school on Friday when he was shot, according to MyFoxBoston.

The matter remains under active investigation, and the teen, who is currently behind bars, is being charged with involuntary manslaughter and illegal possession of a firearm; Boston police are not releasing his name because of his age, and his arraignment on Monday will not be open to the public, according to the report.
