Suspect Steals Passport on Danforth

Police tracked later tracked the suspect but did not find any of the victim’s belongings.

A suspect took three bags containing several personal items from a woman on Danforth Street Wednesday night.

The victim told police that while walking on Paul Gore Street toward Danforth Street at 9:12 p.m., a man came from behind her and grabbed three bags she was carrying, according to a police report. A brief struggle ensued, but the suspect was able to snatch the bags and run down Danforth Street.

The bags contained an iPhone in its case, a Mac Book computer, the victim’s passport, her ID, credit cards, $50 cash, banking paperwork and homemade clothing, the report says. The total value of the items including the luggage is $2,290.

A bystander told police he saw the incident and was able to get the license plate of a Honda Civic the suspect jumped into, which fled the scene.

Officers located the vehicle at 35 Franklin Hill Avenue, and questioned the owner. After a search, officers determined none of the victim’s personal belongings were in the vehicle.
