Suspect in Amory Street Stabbing Jumped From Window to Escape Police

Police responding found "blood all over the third-floor hallway" at 125 Amory St.

A Roxbury man is accused of stabbing a woman in the hand before he jumped from a window to evade police.

The incident took place Sunday night at 125 Amory St. Police say they received a call at 7:21 p.m. that there was a person with a knife at that address.

Officers said they found "blood all over the third-floor hallway" at the scene. The person who was stabbed told police she'd come to visit her friend. The victim got into a fight with a man who she said called her a "bitch." She told Housing Police that she had a knife, but that the man took it from her and stabbed her.

Police said that when they arrived the suspect appeared to be hiding in a nearby apartment. Police knocked but no one answered. Police say they got the apartment's owner to give them a key. But on entering, they found no one, only an open window.

That window led down a story to a rooftop. Police searched the area and eventually found the suspect on a hidden section of the roof. Police say the man said he'd broken his leg and had a cut on his right hand.
