Surveillance Photos Show Suspect in Liquor Store Hold-Up

Police have released surveillance images from the Tuesday armed robbery of Stonybrook Wine and Spirits.

Surveillance images from a Tuesday hold-up of a JP liquor store have been released.

Stonybrook Wine and Spirits, at 78 Boylston St. in Jamaica Plain, was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday night, according to police.

The robbery occurred around 9:46 p.m., when witnesses told police a man pulled a gun on another man standing outside the store, forcing him into the store. The man then ordered a store employee to empty the cash register and place the money on the counter, police said.

The armed man left the store, making off with about $500 to $600, police said. He then ran down nearby Danforth Street. 

The man is described as a black Hispanic man, about 5-foot-10 and 175 pounds, police said. He was wearing a black hat with a red bandana underneath, and a black hooded sweatshirt and jeans. The man also appeared to have a 2- to 3-inch scar on his left cheek, police said, and was wearing black-framed glasses.

The video surveillance brought out new details from the : There was apparently a second suspect standing at a nearby corner and the get-away vehicle was a minivan or sport utility vehicle. The new details appear in a listing on "Mass Most Wanted," a Web site maintained by the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council and paid for by the Mass Bankers Assoc.
