Dive Team Responds to False Alarm at Jamaica Pond

Firefighters are responding to Jamaica Pond for the possible drowning.

If you noticed a brief spurt of emergency activity at Jamaica Pond, don't worry. Initial reports of a body in the water were thankfully incorrect.

Boston fire, EMS and a dive team responded to Jamaica Pond around 1:30 p.m. Sunday after a caller reported seeing a body in the water. Upon arrival, however, first responders found a large trash bag, instead.

Fireifghters believe the initial caller was merely mistaken. Responding companies cleared the scene quickly after confirming it wasn't a body.
