Police Warn of Wheel Thefts in Jamaica Plain, Especially Off Hondas

Police say Hondas, especially Fits and Civics, are being targeted by wheel and tire thieves.

If you park your car in Jamaica Plain, police are urging greater awareness of the potential for wheel and tire thefts.

Boston Police out of the E-13 District, which covers Jamaica Plain, sent out an advisory on Thursday that there has been an increase in these types of larcenies. The E-13 District also includes the Roxbury side of Egleston Square.

Most of the thefts take place during the night. The cars are left up on cinder blocks. Police say Hondas, in particular the Fit and Civic models, are a top target.
