Police: Victim Was Trapped Under Truck

The victim, who was hit by a truck while crossing Brookley Road Monday, was picking up a cigarette she dropped, according to police.

A woman sustained a possible broken leg after she was trapped under a truck at the intersection of Brookley Road and Washington Street Monday, according to witnesses and police.

Police detectives driving toward Forest Hills on Washington Street observed a green truck driving in front of them in the same direction at about 1:30 p.m. Monday, according to a report.

They observed the truck take a left turn onto Brookley Road and run over a woman crossing the street.

The victim told police she began to cross Brookley Road when she dropped her cigarette and “the next thing she remembered was being under the truck,” according to the report.

The victim suffered a possible broken leg, according to the report. The incident is under investigation.
