Police Department's Free North Star Program Helps Find Those With a Tendency to Wander

If you have a loved one who tends to wander away, perhaps because of Alzheimer's, the Boston Police have a program to help identify them, keep them safe and get them home.

Boston Police are offering a free program for people who have relatives who tend to wander off.

For instance, your relative may have Alzheimer's, or be a child bent on running away.

Under the North Star Personal Alert Program, police will have a photo and description of the person. If he or she goes missing, the information can quickly help officers locate the person. Further, if the person has trouble communicating, as often happens in these situations, police will be aware.
