Police: "Credible Sighting" Made of Missing JP Mom Amber DeVoe

DeVoe, who has not contacted persons she knows since last Tuesday, was apparently seen in the South End yesterday, according to police.

Boston Police say there has been a "credible sighting" of Amber Ruth DeVoe in the South End yesterday. The Jamaica Plain mother has been missing since last Tuesday.

Police urge DeVoe to "please contact her family as they are very concerned about her."

People who know DeVoe have rallied the neighborhood with an energetic effort to find her. Lamp posts and stores all along Centre Street were flyered last night by volunteers who organized themselves at .

Police had previously reported that DeVoe may be without necessary medication.

Police say Amber Ruth DeVoe is reported to be in good physical and mental health.

DeVoe is 5-8, around 180 pounds, with blond hair, blue/green eyes and wears her hair in a "faux hawk" style and shaved on the sides.

She drives a black 2007 Chrysler 300 with Massachusetts plates (pictured in the photo gallery above and right). DeVoe wears baggy clothing from Hollister, America Eagle, and Abercrombie. She has a distinct Michigan accent. Last seen last Tuesday.

According to a fellow player in the Boston Women's Alternative Softball League, she has "not made any contact with anyone, has not used phone, email, Facebook, anything since then." The player said DeVoe has also not shown up for either of her two jobs. A missing persons report has been filed, wrote the fellow player.
