UPDATED: Man Stabbed in the Hand

A man suffered non life-threatening injuries Friday evening when he was stabbed in the hand at 279 Centre St.

A man was stabbed in the hand on Friday evening in Jackson Square, suffering non life-threatening injuries.

Police say the man, for whom they do not have an age, walked in to Brigham & Women's Hospital seeking treatment for his wound. The wounded person was uncooperative with police, said David Estrada, a spokesperson for the Boston Police.

The victim told police he had suffered the wound earlier in the day when he was breaking up a fight between a friend and another teenager, according to Boston Police spokesman Officer James Kenneally.

Police have not made any arrests but say the suspect is a man in his late teens, Kenneally said.

The call came in about 5:30 p.m. The stabbing took place at 279 Centre St.
