Man Brandishes Blood-Filled Needle at Minors Who Asked Him to Buy Them Booze

A man went back on his deal to buy booze for two underage kids at Forest Hills Liquor. When the kids wanted their money back, he allegedly stuck a needle in his arm, filled it with his blood and told them he has AIDS.

UPDATE, Wednesday 2:17 p.m.: Soler was arraigned Wednesday on slightly different charges than those with which the Transit Police booked him. Prosecutors charged him with two counts each of armed robbery and assault with a hypodermic needle. His bail was set at $2,500, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney's office.

Minors who had enlisted a man to buy them booze at were surprised when the man not only went back on the deal — he also threatened them with a blood-filled needle.

According to Transit Police, on Tuesday afternoon two teens approached them at the and laid out the following story: They'd hatched a deal with a man to buy $20 of booze for them, letting him keep $5 as his fee. But the man came back from the liquor store empty-handed.

That's when things allegedly got very weird. The minors demanded their money back, but the man would only give them $3. They started arguing and the man pulled out a hypodermic needle from his shorts. The man allegedly pulled off the cap, stuck the needle in his arm and filled it with blood. Then he brandished it at the teens, saying, "Back the fuck off, dog. I got AIDS!," according to Universal Hub.

Officers found a man at the station with a clenched left fist and a blood-filled needle in his right hand, Universal Hub reported. A $20 bill was in the left hand.

Police arrested Jose Soler, 47, of Hyde Park and charged him with assault with a dangerous weapon.
