Man Held on $50K Bail in Connection with Sexual Assault at Arboretum

Boston police arrested a suspect this week wanted in connection with a sexual assault that occurred Wednesday at the Arnold Arboretum in Jamaica Plain, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office said Friday. 

Officers from the Boston Police Department's District E-13 in Jamaica Plain on Thursday sought the public's help in identifying a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman at knifepoint at the Arnold Arboretum on Wednesday, June 25. Police arrested Ashton Davis, 23, overnight Thursday after they received data from a GPS bracelet obtained by Suffolk prosecutors in another court case, according to the DA's office.

Davis was held on $50,000 cash bail in West Roxbury Municipal Court Friday in connection with the crime; Judge Mary Ann Driscoll revoked his bail in Roxbury, which had been previously reduced from $25,000 to personal recognizance over prosecutors' objections, at the request of Assistant District Attorney Kristina Kerwin. Driscoll also imposed a protective order to keep the victim's identifying information out of the public record, according to the DA's office. 

Davis is set to appear in court again on July 29.
